Elaine Buchsbaum is a dog
trainer living in New York since 1979. She is a practicing RN active
in incorporating animals in human therapy for the last 6 years in
conjunction with the Delta Society. She taught a basic obedience class
at the Bid-a-Wee for two years and presently teaches puppy classes,
basic obedience, and a preparation class for Delta Society Pet Partners
certification. Elaine also works with problem behaviors of the urban
dog. She is a member of Delta Society, is a Delta Pet Partners team
evaluator, a member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainiers)
and is committed to friendly and modern methods of dog training.
She
has appeared on Fox's "The Pet Department" and lectures at
Mt Sinai Medical School in a series "Aternative Medicine/Animals
in Therapy". She lives with a cat and two dogs Lille (a golden
retirever) and Mario (a lab) who are active therapy dogs at the Terrance
Cardinal Cook Health Care Center and is currently working on starting
a therapy program at Mt Sinai Medical Center.
